Lee(Yang), Jae-hyun: She is a newly recognized Korean American
independence patriot as of 2015.
In 2015, the South Korean government posthumously recognized her with the Order of Merit of National Foundation / Patriotic People Award for her contribution toward the Korean independence movement for supporting her husband, the independence movement patriot, Yang, Joo-eun who operated Uncle Sam Restaurant and they donated independence funds and she was elected as a vice president of the Korean Women’s Patriotic League in 1928. Later, she was elected as president of the Sacramento Korean Women’s Organization in 1919.
