Lee, Am aka Albert Lee: Lee, Am served the Korean National Association and other organizations with different capacities for the Korean independence movement.
He was actively involved with Gong Lip Hyup Hoe in San Francisco in 1907, the Korean Nation- al Association in 1910 for Riverside with stints as a secretary-general of Claremont area in February 1916 and also as legal assistant in May of 1917 plus Willows Korean Aviation Training School expanding from 1907 through 1945. He served as a president of Los Angeles area in December of 1924, as a representative in 1925, as a secretary- general in 1927 and a president and also as a president in 1928. He became a vice-president in 1931 and 1932, a president in 1933 and 1934, a legal hand in 1935, an academic staff in 1936, an Executive and Information Officer in 1937 and further working as an executive director in 1938, he executed and sponsored the initiation ceremony for the Korean National Association, and the March First ceremony as well as patriots’ memorial ceremonies. Mr. Lee was born on February 11, 1884 at Borim-myun, Gangseo, Pyungnam in North Korea. In 2015, the Korean government posthumously recognized him with the Order of Merit of National Foundation/ National Medal for his service and dedication for Korean independence.
