Kim, Hong-kyun: He is a new Korean American independence patriot in 2015.
He immigrated to Hawaii as a sugar plantation laborer and he moved to Sacramento. In 1913, he joined Hung Sa Dahn that Dosan Ahn Chang Ho founded in San Francisco with his badge number 10. He was successful with his bean business and he donated $600 for the Korean Provisional Government in Shangai. In 2015, the South Korean government posthumously recognized him with the Order of Merit of National Foundation / Patriotic People Award for his contribution toward the Korean independence
movement.
