Hyun, Do-myung: He donated independence funds as a leader of Korean Independence Party in Hawaii.
He began huge financial contribution of $1,000.00 on November 15, 1931 to Kim, Goo in the Provisional Government in Shanghai and this fund was ultimately used by Yoon, Bong-kil and Lee, Bong-chang to destroy the Japanese. He was elected as the leader of the Korean Independence Party in Hawaii and he supported the Korean Liberation Army in China. His financial support lasted from 1937 through 1945. In 1997, the South Korean government posthumously recognized him with the Order of Merit of National Foundation / Patriotic People Award for his financial support and contribution toward the Korean independence movement.
